Clarke Chronicler's Resurrection

 This  was  my  choice, a  walk  from  Whalley  to  Clitheroe  via  Nick  o' Pendle. The  weather  was  excellent  for  March.  We  had  breakfast  at  a  cafe  in  Whalley  before  setting  off.  The  walk  started  with  a  steepish  climb  along  the  edge  of  the  golf  course. Simon  needed  a  rest  at  the  top. We  got  our  first  sighting  of  Pendle  Hill  shortly  afterwards. I  can't  recall  why  I  took  another  picture  of  Simon  at  this  point.   This  was  our  next  weekend  away. Simon  wanted  to  go  to  a  concert  and  the  most  appealing  and  practicable  was  Glenn  Tilbrook  appearing  at  the  Peak  Cavern, Castleton. We  found  an  airbandb  at   nearby  Bradwell  for  a  very  reasonable  rate. We  set  off  on  Friday  evening  and  stopped  at  Bury  KFC  for  tea. Having  looked  the  property  up  on  Google  Maps  beforehand  we  found  it  pretty  easily.  The  previous  week, we  had  noted  this  attraction in  the  shopping  centre  at  Salford  Quays  so  Simon  wanted  to  return  and  have  a  go.  Molly  came  along  with  us.  We  drove  to  Radcliffe  for  the  Metrolink. I  didn't  want  to  participate  so  I  got  in  on  a  carer's  ticket  which  made  it  considerably  cheaper. Simon  and  Molly  watched  the  safety  video  then  got  kitted up.  This  was  my  choice. It  was  the  first  day  of  cruises  resuming  on  the  river  Irwell  in  Manchester, at  least  as  far  as  Salford  Quays  and  I  booked  us  on the  first  boat.  Due  to  work  on  the  line, it  was  a  replacement  bus  service  into  Manchester  from  Bolton  onwards. We  popped  into  Forsyths  on  Deansgate  on  the  way  to  the  quay.   Simon  had  a  go  on  the  piano.
