111 Saturday 26th March 2022 Nick o' Pendle

This  was  my  choice, a  walk  from  Whalley  to  Clitheroe  via  Nick  o' Pendle.

The  weather  was  excellent  for  March.

We  had  breakfast  at  a  cafe  in  Whalley  before  setting  off.  The  walk  started  with  a  steepish  climb  along  the  edge  of  the  golf  course. Simon  needed  a  rest  at  the  top.

We  got  our  first  sighting  of  Pendle  Hill  shortly  afterwards.

I  can't  recall  why  I  took  another  picture  of  Simon  at  this  point.

We  eventually  reached  the  road  at  Nick O' Pendle where  we  had  lunch. The  hoped-for  ice  cream van  wasn't  there.

The  view  towards  Clitheroe  was  amazing.

We  descended to  Pendleton  passing  the  village  church.

We  went  for  a  deserved  drink  in  the  pub.

We  noted  lambs  in  the  walk  through  the  fields to  Clitheroe.

This  is  looking  back  to  Nick o 'Pendle.

This  is  looking  towards  Longridge  Fell.

We  eventually  walked  into  Clitheroe  and  caught  the  train  back.
