Clarke Chronicler's Resurrection

 Today  was  my  choice  so  we  continued  along  the  towpath  of  the  Leeds-Liverpool  Canal.  Today's  stretch  was  a  little  less  scenic  but  interesting. We  got  off  to  an  early  start  and  got  some  breakfast  at  The  Golden  Lion , Higher  Wheelton  where  we  parked  up. We  then  walked  down  to  the  canal.  With  the  weather  glorious, Simon  opted  to  return  to  the  Leeds  Liverpool  Canal. We  stopped  at  a  little  cafe  on  the  edge  of  Horwich  to  get  some  takeaway  breakfast  then  parked  up  at  Botany  Bridge. We  passed  Botany  Bay  Mill  which  looked  forlorn, When  we  saw  the  car  park  half  dug  up  I  realised  that  it  probably  wasn't  just  Covid  that  had  shut  the  place  down  and  that  turned  out  to  be  correct.   I  pointed  out  the  Mormon  church  to  Simon.
