81 Saturday 21 August 2021 Burnley to Brierfield
This was another wet day. I rang Joanne again about the weather. She said it wasn't raining in Burnley and we talked a bit about parking there.
We parked opposite the bus station and made our way to The Weaver's Triangle. Here we noted an elaborate sign post for The Burnley Way.
As we walked across the Burnley Embankment , we passed above the car and I offered Simon another chance to have his caguole as the weather looked very unpromising but he declined.
I pointed out Turf Moor on the far side of the canal.
It  started  raining  as  we  got  out  of  the  town  centre  and  walked  over  the  acqueduct  over  the  river  Brun.
Simon's  enthusiasm  started  to  flag  and  he  asked  where  we  were  going  to  finish  which  wasn't  a  good  sign.
There  was  a  good  view  over  the  hills  to  Pendle  Hill
Towards  the  end  we  passed  Reedley  Marina...
......and  then  a  mill  converted  to  canalside  flats.
We  concluded  the  walk  at  this  bridge  in  Brierfield.
We  went  to  the  station but  the  next  train  wasn't  for  an  hour so we  walked  up  to  the  town  centre  for  the  bus. We  missed  one  because  of  two  coaches inconsiderately  parked at  the  bus  stop.  We  got  back  to  Burnley  and  drove  to  The  Star  pub  for  lunch. We  then  drove  home  in  time  for  me  to  listen  to  the  Rochdale  game  on  I-follow.
