129 Sunday 31st July Worsthorne and Hurstwood walk
This was my choice, a short walk around Worsthorne and Harwood taking in the church tea rooms at Hurstwood.
We drove to Worsthone and parked in the main square. We headed up Gorple Gate which starts out as a tarmac road. This is looking back towards Burnley.
This is looking ahead towards the moors.
On  the  left  hand  side  we  spotted  a  deer.
Towards  the  top there  was  a  good  view  of  Pendle  Hill
We  got  to  the summit  at  Gorple  Gate  which  simon  recognised  from  the  first  Leeds  weekend. This  is  Upper  Gorple  Reservoir.
This  is  looking  down  at  Hurstwood  Reservoir
The  way  down  to  it  was  very  rough  with  the  footpath  invisible  on  the  ground. Eventully  it  improved  when  we  got  into  the  valley.
This  is  looking  back  at  Black  Hameldon.
As  we  approached  the  reservoir  there  was  a  great  view  of  Pendle  through  a  gap  in  the trees.
This  is  looking  back  towards  Gorple  Gate.
We  had  tea  and  scones  at  the  tea  rooms  which  were  excellent. Simon  was  given  a  free  scone  to  take  home, We  took  the  field  path  back to  Worsthorne  enjoying  the  view  to  Pendle.
We  enjoyed  some  ice  cream  from  the  village  shop  in  Worsthorne  before  heading  home.
