165 Sunday 19th March 2023 Bury Transport Museum
Simon chose this one which coincided with one of the periodic visits of the Flying Scotsman.
We parked up at Bury Leisure Centre, taking the last parking space, then walked over to the museum.
It was quite busy with a coach party who'd come to ride on the Scotsman.
Simon enjoyed the interactive puzzles.
I noted signs for Rochdale and Littleborough on the wall.
Simon enjoyed being the rather slim Controller....
and of course a driver.
The Museum had another prestigious engine in the shed, The Union of South Africa, on loan from a private collector.
We joined a short queue for a visit to its cabin.
The engine actually returned to Scotland the following month.
We looked round the other engines in the shed.
We then returned home.
