191 Saturday 7th October 2023 British Music Experience, Liverpool
This was Simon's choice , a visit to the British Music Experience museum in Liverpool.
We walked back to the station and had a meal at the Werherspoon's. We then began the journey home.
We took the train to Manchester then found the train to Liverpool was delayed which meant an hour's wait. We decided to have a mooch around Manchester and found a record fair. When we got back to Victoria, well before the new arrival time, we were told the train had already gone. How often does that happen ? So we didn't get to lIverpool until lunch time.
We walked down towards the waterfront and were delayed further by road closures due to a police incident.
We finally got there. I pointed out the Liver building.
Simon enjoyed the view over to Birkenhead.
We still weren't sure where the BME was so we asked in the Museum of Liverpool who pointed us to the Cunard building.
We looked round the exhibits including costumes worn by David Bowie.
I enjoyed seeing Mick Tucker of the Sweet's stage outfit from the Christmas Top of the Pops 1973.
Who doesn't want to see a giant Kate Bush ?
We spent most time in the practice area where Simon bashed the skins.
We had some refrehments at the cafe then walked back over to the river. There was an Isle of Man ferry there.
I noted the times of the river cruises for a possible future trip.
