210 Sunday 25th March 2024 Bishop Park
This was Simon's choice , a game of pitch and putt on the hilltop course at Bishop Park , Oldham. We called at Birch Services for some refreshment along the way.
We were given four balls at the kiosk so some losses were obviously expected. The course was pretty soggy and only just playable with an ever-present risk of falling on your behind in the mud. The views were splendid. Here we're looking towards the monument on the hill.
This is looking towards Winter Hill
This is looking back towards the kiosk.
The  top  end  of  the  course was  closer  to  the  monument.
I  won  the  game  during  which  we  lost  two  of  the  balls  in  the  rushes. After  handing  back  the  clubs, we  went  for  a  stroll up  to  the  monument.
This  was  the  view  over  towards  Blackstone Edge. We  went  over  to  the  viewfinder  in  the  picture  but  it's  lost  its plate.
This  was  the  view  over  towards  Winter  Hill and  Rochdale.
This  was  the  view  towards  the  top  end  of  the  Peak  District
After  that  we  went  down  to  the  souce  of the  river  Medlock, noting  an  owl  swooping  over the  moorland.. The  video we  filmed will  appear  here  in  due  course. We  then  moved  on  to  Besom Hill  Country  Park  where  we  filmed  the  video  you  can  see  here.
We  then  walked  back  up  the  hill  to  the  car  park and  drove  home.
