Clarke Chronicler's Resurrection

 Simon  wanted  to  see  some  more  animals  and  the  best  idea  I  could  come  up  with  was  Heaton  Park  where  there's  an  Animals  Centre.  We  drove  to  Radcliffe  and  took  the  tram  from  there. The  Animal  Centre  was  a  bit  disappointing as  it's  basically  just  farm  animals.    After  that, we  had  an  over-priced  pizza  ( the  only option ) for  lunch.  For  our  next  nights  away  trip  we  took  advantage  of  a  good  rate  at  the  Burton-in-Kendal  Travelodge. We  were  mindful  of  the  storm  warnings  but  our  journey  there  was  uneventful. We  got  a  good  room  on  the  ground  floor  but  had  to  be  mindful  of people  walking  their  dogs  on  the  bank  outside. I  think  we  went  to  Buger  King  for  our  meal  that  evening.  Despite  a  dreadful  forecast, I  clung  to  the  hope  that  we  could  manage  some  more  filming  along  the  river Irwell  with  a  backup  plan  to  visit  the  Fusiliers  Museum  in  Bury  if  the  weather  went  south. It  started  chucking  it  down  before  we  even  reached  the  entrance  to  Springwater Park  but  we  duly  sat  in  the  car  for  20  minutes  hoping  for  a  break  in  the  rain  which  never  arrived. Eventually  I  conceded  defeat  and  we  moved  on  to  Bury. we  parked  at  Tesco's  and  walked  across  to  the  Fusiliers  Museum....
