By this point Simon's pocket money had built up over the weeks so he wanted to go to Manchester and visit a record shop.
That morning I discovered a banking problem so I needed to visit Nat West there too. We went straight there off the train. After a fraught discussion, we arrived at a reasonable solution to the problem.
After that we went to HMV where Simon bought an Arctic Monkeys vinyl album and a Nirvana CD.
We then went to Waterstones where I bought a couple of books.
On our way to lunch we passed preparations for The Manchester Jazz Festival in St Anne's Square. We sat in some deckchairs and watched the soundcheck for a bit.
Eventually, Simon's hunger got the better of him and we went to The Moon Under Water for lunch.
When we got back to the festival an artiste calling herself Trees R Good was beginning her set . After a pretentious introduction, she started noodling on her bass and Simon wanted to move on . We went back to Victoria and waited for our train home.
