104 Sunday 6th February 2022 Haworth Art Gallery, Accrington
This was Simon's choice for a miserable Sunday, an Italian lunch and a visit to an art gallery.
We took the train to Accrington
We had a short wait at Blackburn
We had a walk through Accrington Town Centre which is mostly closed on a Sunday to find a pub called Grant's which I'd found on Trip Advisor.
They only really did stone-baked pizzas but it was nice enough. By the time we'd finished the rain had stopped so we decided to walk to the art gallery which is about a mile outside the town in a small park.
The building is a former Victorian residence.
There was a good view from the porch.
Simon  liked  this  picture  of David  Bowie
As  usual, he  found  a  comfy  seat  from  which  to  appreciate  the  art.
We liked  this  group  of  three.
Simon  had  a  go  at  this  puzzle.
We  met  the  curator  in  the  Atlantic  Contemporary  Arts  exhibition  who  told  us  something  about  the  background  to  one  of  the  artists  featured. I  could  have  this  wrong  but  I  think  the  artist's  name  was  Graeme  Windle. We  liked  two portraits  he  did  of  a  friend  called  Juliua. Here  she  is  outdoors....
.....and  here  she  is  indoors
We  had  a  drink  in  the  te  room  then  visited  the  PALS  memorial  in  the  park.
We  then  walked  back  into  the  town  and  the  station  for  our  train.
