154 Saturday 31st December 2022 Brookside Miniature Railway
The weather wasn't that great so I decided on visiting the miniature railway at Brokkside Garden Centre near Poynton.
We went by train to Hazel Grove and hoped to get a bus from there to Brookside which is about a mile away.. Unfortunately it isn't on a bus route, at least not one from there. Luckily it wasn't raining as we walked..I was relieved as we neared the place to hear the engine whistle. I had checked the railway was open on the internet but you never know.
The video we filmed can be seen here.
After that, we had a look round the garden centre. Simon liked these female statues.
We both liked these ceramic animals.
As usual, Simon wanted another ride on the train before we left and I joined him. We then went to the nearby chip shop for lunch just as it started raining.
We had a good lunch there. It was a bit drizzly for the walk back to Hazel Grove but nothing too uncomfortable. As we neared the town centre, we saw a load of tractors passing by. It seemed like an odd date for a rally but there you go.
I bought Simon a drink while we waited for the next train.
We got back home without any difficulties.
