194 Saturday 4th November 2023 Bankfield Museum, Halifax
Now that I was recovered, we were able to make a slightly more ambitious trip to the Bankfield Museum, Halifax which I had last visited in 1988. We went by train via Blackburn.
Because it was raining and the museum's a little way out of the centre we went for the bus. Halifax Bus Station isn't where it used to be in the old days of the LTS and it took us a while to find it.
We caught the bus to the museum. The main entrance was closed due to works but it was still open via a door at the back.
This  was  the  end  result.
We  had light  refreshments  at  the  cafe. Part  of  the  museum  was  closed  off   for  a  function  for  army  veterans  but  we  were  able  to  go  in  the  military exhibition. This  coat  was  apparently  worn  by  the  Duke  of  Wellington. Upstairs  was  a  textile  exhibition. Simon  models  one  of  the  dresses.
We  then  popped  into  the  library  and  started  working  on  a  jigsaw. I  was  deliberately  procrastinating  hoping  there  would  be  some  leftover nosh  when  the  army  buffers left. There  was  but  nothing  too  special. At  last  we  left  the  museum. It  had  stopped  raining so  we  decided  to  walk  back  into  the  centre. We  passed  a  KFC  and  decided  to  have  something  to  eat  there. We  then  caught  the  train  back  home.
