Clarke Chronicler's Resurrection

 With  the  coming  of  British  Summer Time, it  was  time  to  resume  progress  on  the  Westmorland  Heritage  Walk. This  time,  we  took  an  early  train to  Lancaster  then  caught  a  bus  to  Kirkby  Lonsdale, a  long  ride  calling  at  all  the  little  villages  in  the  Lune  valley. As  the  walk  resumed  from  Devil's  Bridge, Simon  demanded sustenance  from  the  burger  van  which  he  ate at  one  of  the  riverside  picnic  tables. Simon  soon took  his  coat  off.  This  was  Simon's  choice , a  game  of  pitch  and  putt  on  the  hilltop  course  at  Bishop  Park , Oldham.We  called  at  Birch  Services  for  some  refreshment  along  the  way. We  were  given  four  balls at the  kiosk  so  some  losses were  obviously  expected. The  course  was  pretty  soggy and  only  just  playable with  an  ever-present  risk  of  falling  on  your  behind in  the  mud. The  views  were  splendid.  We  headed  back  for  our  third  stay  at  Chester  Trafford  YHA. We  arrived  in  the  early  evening. Simon  noted  the  flowering  cherry  in  blossom. We  were  allocated  Room S38 We  had  breakfast  at  the  hostel  then  drove  into  the  city  centre and  parked  at  the  station. We  caught  the  train  to  Shotton  noting  the  unusual layout  of  the  station. We   waited  for  a  bus  to  Wepre  Country  Park but  then  decided  to  walk  there  instead  which  was  a  pleasant  stroll.
