312 Saturday 4th April 2026 Harris Museum, Preston
We were a bit short of ideas for a rainy day and opted for a re-visit to the Harris Museum Preston, knowing it had a re-fit since our last visit. We took the trin to Preston station.
Before we went to the museum we visited Trespass where I bought a new pair of walking trousers.
At the museum, we had ourelves photographed and put in a picture frame.
Simon took up the opportunity to do some artwork.
Here's my effort at self-portrait.
Here's Simon's
It's impressive looking down from the top floor.
The Foucault Pendulum at the centre of the museum is the longest of its kind in the UK and demonstrates the rotation of the Earth.
After we'd looked round all the exhibits we had lunch in the Museum's cafe. We then went for a short walk along the beginning of the Lancaster Canal towpath. We had the umbrella but it was still too wet to be enjoyable so we abandoned it after a mile or so.
We caught a bus back into the centre of Preston and then went home.
