 The  weather  wasn't  promising  at  all  for  a  walk  in  Calderdale  so  we   decided  to  head  for  the  canal. I  messaged  my  friend  Jo  who  said  it  wasn't  raining  in  Burnley  which  gave  me  encouragement  because  it  was  bucketing  down  in  Bolton  when  we  set  off.  By  this  point  Simon's  pocket  money  had  built  up over  the  weeks so  he  wanted  to  go  to  Manchester  and  visit  a  record  shop.  That  morning  I  discovered  a  banking  problem  so  I  needed  to  visit  Nat  West  there  too.   It  was  my  choice  and  I  wanted  to  take  in  the  pre-season  game  away  at  AFC  Fylde  so   I  thought  we'd  do  some  walking  on  the  Lancashire  Coastal  Way  beforehand. As we  drove  out  Of  Preston, Simon  spotted  a sign  for  The  Courtyard Cafe  near  Freckleton   and  wanted  to  call  there  for  something  to  eat.  Simon  set  quite  a  challenge  for  this  trip, wanting  a  sightseeing  trip  with  a  musical  connection.  Doing  some  Googling, we  settled  on  the  Use  Hearing  Protection  exhibition  about  the  early  days  of   Factory  Records  at  the  Manchester  Museum  of  Science  and  Industry.
