Clarke Chronicler's Resurrection

 Despite  a  dreadful  forecast, I  clung  to  the  hope  that  we  could  manage  some  more  filming  along  the  river Irwell  with  a  backup  plan  to  visit  the  Fusiliers  Museum  in  Bury  if  the  weather  went  south. It  started  chucking  it  down  before  we  even  reached  the  entrance  to  Springwater Park  but  we  duly  sat  in  the  car  for  20  minutes  hoping  for  a  break  in  the  rain  which  never  arrived. Eventually  I  conceded  defeat  and  we  moved  on  to  Bury. we  parked  at  Tesco's  and  walked  across  to  the  Fusiliers  Museum....

 This  was  Simon's  choice  for  a  miserable  Sunday, an  Italian  lunch  and  a  visit  to  an  art  gallery. We  took  the  train  to  Accrington We  had  a  short  wait  at  Blackburn We  had  a  walk  through  Accrington  Town  Centre  which  is  mostly  closed  on  a  Sunday  to  find  a  pub  called  Grant's  which  I'd  found  on  Trip  Advisor. They  only  really  did  stone-baked  pizzas  but  it  was  nice  enough.  Simon  was   ill  the  previous  weekend but  was  well  enough  to  resume  our  travels. Molly  joined  us  for  this  one  despite  the  football  element.  The  idea  was  to  do  a  walk  from  Tandle  Hill   Country  Park, grab  some  lunch  and  then  go  to  the  Oldham  v  Rochdale  game   at  Boundary  Park. The  weather  was  pretty  awful  when  we  arrived  at  Tandle  Hill  so  we  waited  for  the  rain  to  ease  off  a  bit  which  made  things  a  bit  time  pressured.  For  this  weekend  away  we  made  our  first  use  of  airbandb, staying  with   a  lady  called  Felicity  in  Hala,Lancaster. We  had  a  little  difficulty  in  locating  the  flat  but  everything  was  A1  once  we  got there. There  was  good  parking  across  the  road  and  a  Chinese  takeaway nearby. I  introduced  Simon  to  the  delights  of  egg  fried  rice. The  following  morning  was  a  lovely  day. We  drove  into  the  city  then  went  to  Wetherspoon's  for  some  breakfast.
