Clarke Chronicler's Resurrection

 This  was  Simon's  choice - a  trip  to  Hebden  Bridge, specifically  to  the  Picture  House  to  view  Jurassic  World : Dominion.   We  went  by  train  and  had  plenty  of  time  to  look  round  before  the  film  started.  We  walked  through  Calder  Homes  Park  then  had  some  breakfast  in  the  cafe  opposite  the  main  bus  stop  which  has  gone  a  little  more  upmarket  since  the  1970s.  This  was  my  choice  of  trip, a  return  to  Littleborough  to  start  our  film  series  on  the  river  Roch. we  took  the  Halifax  bus  up  to  The  White  House, which  is  how  many  of  the  trips  started  in  the  old  days. We  had  a  refreshment  stop  at  The  Summit  Inn  as  it  was  very  warm. We  then  went  to  the  Beach  for  a  late  lunch  when  we'd  finished  filming.  Simon  wanted  to  go  back  to  Liverpool  to  explore  the  parts  of  the  World  Museum  we didn't  get  to  on  our  previous  visit. Simon  had  a  Rocky -run  to  the  top  of  the  steps  of  the  art  gallery. We  started  in  the  Physical  Sciences  Collection. We  moved  on  to  the  Natural  History  Collection We  moved  on  to  Antiquities. We  liked  the  mummified  cat. Simon  took  a  rest  as  usual.  It  was  quite  a  struggle  to  find  suitably  priced  accommodation  options  for  this  weekend  but  there  was  a  good  deal ( or  so  I  thought ) at  a  hotel  in  Southport.   The  Scarisbrick  Hotel  was  on  Lord  St , the  main  shopping  area  and  had  very  little  parking  ( to  be  fair  we  were  warned  about  this ). The  offhand  guy  behind  the  desk  suggested  some  overnight  street  parking  behind  the  hotel   but  this  was  all  taken  too  so  we  used  a   P  & D, paying  until 8am.  I  can't  recall whether  this  switch  to  Sunday  was  down  to  illness, the  weather  or  an  appointnment  on  the  Saturday. This  walk  followed  on  from  the  previous  Sunday when I'd  made  a  mess  of  making  a  video  on  the  river  Ogden  so  we  needed  to  do  some  re-shooting.   This  was  Simon's  choice, a  visit  to  the  Dr  Who  exhibition  at  Liverpool's  World  Museum. I  had  been  to  a  Dr  Who  exhibition  with  my Dad  in  Blackpool  back  in  1975  so  it  was  interesting  to  see  an  update.  When  we  were  buying  our   train  tickets,  we  were  advised  that  it  was  cheaper  if  we  went  via  Wigan  rather  than  Manchester so  we  did  that.  We  got  off  at  Bolton  and  found  that   the  next  train  for  Wigan  had  been  cancelled   so  we  went  to  Wetherspoons  for  some  breakfast.  ...
