Clarke Chronicler's Resurrection

 This  was  my  choice  and  followed  on  from  a  walk  at  Easter  where  we'd  gone  to  Windermere  and  one  of   the  trains  was  cancelled. We  got  a  full  refund  of  the  ticket  price  so  decided  to  head  out  there  again. As  it  was  nearly  lunch  time  by  the  time  we  arrived  in  Windermere we  had  something  to  eat  first. We found  a  nice  cafe.  This  was  Simon's  choice, a  trip to  the  museum  at  Heptonstall.  I  had  visited the  museum once  before  in  1979 and  knew  there  wasn't  that  much  to  see  but  went  along  with  it  anyway. We  took  the  train  to  Hebden Bridge. There  was  a  brass  band  festival  in  the  town  that  day. We  went  over  the  old  packhorse  bridge.   This  trip  was  planned  a  few  weeks  in  advance,  combining  an  ascent  of  Pen-y-Ghent with  a  visit  to  our  friends  in  Selside. Julie  came  with  us  on  this  one. We   drove  up  to  Selside  stopping  for  some  breakfast  at  Pendle  Heritage  Centre  en  route.  For  this  weekend, we  trawled  the  YHA  website  to  find  the  best  offer  and  it  turned  out  to  be  Chester  Trafford  once  more. It  was  a  lovely  afternoon  and  we  got  there  in  good  time. After  chilling  out  for  half  an  hour,  we  went  out  to  play  chess  in  the  garden. I  won.
